WIP Wednesday: As I'm Up Late on Election Night...

Hello, my friends!

I had wonderful intentions about blogging on Monday about the #getyourquiltywishesgranted2 happiness that was happening on Instagram this weekend. Basically, you post a quilty wish (usually for fabric of a specific designer, theme, etc), then you scroll thru the hashtag and find a handful (or more) of wishes you can grant. How fun is that?? I requested bicycle fabric, and sent out 4 packages of various bits. As we were approaching US election day and also beginning our holiday sewing, I think it was great fun to do something that promoted cooperation, generosity, and excitement.

My title mentions that I'm watching the election returns. We're all tired of the whole things, so I'll just comment that there seems to be an awful lot of alcohol on my Instagram feed at the moment.  Hang in there, everyone. Whoever wins tonight, there's a lot of work and listening and kindness that needs to happen in the days ahead.

My most complicated quilt this week-- a memory quilt made of a bomber jacket, BDUs, a flannel shirt, and a few hats.

So what am I working on? I'm working on getting over the worst cold ever. UGH. I think my sewing is only at 60-70% efficiency this week because of a sore throat, snotty nose, coughing, sneezing, and general UGH. But I'm working along on a couple quilts for Christmas orders. The quilt above will get one more border (khaki) and will have wine/burgundy binding (to match that reddish color in the plaid shirt).

Another "traditional style" tshirt quilt is next up

I feel like I'm too tired and still too sick to write anything interesting, even though I'm working on a few other things. I have a fun interview for you on Friday-- keep an eye on Facebook because I'll try to do a little Facebook Live teaser between now and then.

Keep Sewing,

HollyAnne
