WIP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday: Oh Technology

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

The boys are taking championship naps over here because we had a fabulous trip to the park with my friend Mallory this morning and her three girls-- two of whom are 2.5 month old twins! We ate almost a whole watermelon, and everyone went home very sticky and hydrated. ha! We were two busy with 5 kids two and under to get any pictures, so here's a couple of shots from last week's many adventures:

Anyway, looking back over this week, I don't think I sewed quite as much because I've been doing lots and lots and lots of work on the website In addition to the Quilt Gallery that I've had up for a little while, I've added a Tshirt Quilt Gallery and a FriYAY Friends Index (finally, right?!). AND, drumroll please, I launched the String & Story NEWSLETTER! YAY!! If you haven't signed up yet, please do by clicking HERE. The newsletter will go out each Saturday (hopefully in the morning, so it can keep you company over that first cup of coffee), and it will include an overview of the week's blog posts, some Instagram inspiration, and more!

Now, what have I been sewing? I finished the Modern Birds in the Air quilt top for my friend Frances, and I made a little boomerang video of it that you an find over on Instagram. I think it's pretty cool! This little quilt is basted and ready to be quilted as part of the #MachineQuiltingBlogHop. Speaking of which, we get started on MONDAY, so if you haven't ordered a copy of The Ultimate Guide to Machine Quilting, it's time to hit up Amazon Prime!

I had two other finishes, too-- a tshirt quilt for a young widow made from her husband's UNC shirts (above) and an #OperationSmiley quilt for Quilts for Cure (shown at top). Another side note: I introduced the Quilts for Cure Board of Directors on that blog today, and I'd love it if you popped over there to learn more!

I have another tshirt quilt in the works as well, and I am taking videos as I go because I'm going to post about 5 one minute videos as part of #100daysofstringandstory showing you how to make a simple rag style tshirt quilt. Be sure to follow me Instagram @stringandstory to see all the videos!

Other than that, I'm continuing my EPP, En Provence, my little quilt with Jem, and the secret sewing that I hope will be released as a pattern this summer. Busy Busy!

Okay, the tshirt quilt in progress is calling.

Happy making!
