Orion Quilt Pattern- NEW!

9.95

When Orion rises in the sky, he feels like an old friend coming to visit. He can be seen from all over the world and includes some of the brightest stars in the night sky. A red star, Betelgeuse, makes Orion’s right shoulder and falls inside the Winter Hexagon. The blue star Rigel marks Orion’s left knee and also the lower south west corner of the Winter Hexagon.

This quilt shares Orion’s most distinctive feature: his three-star belt. Each of the stars of the belt, the setting stones, and the hexagon at the center of the blocks all provide fussy cutting opportunities, making this an ideal pattern to show off a favorite novelty fabric or to create an “I Spy” quilt.

This quilt uses basic foundation paper piecing. The pattern contains a basic tutorial.

Special thanks to Paintbrush Studio Fabrics for providing Otter Romp fabric.

Sizes and yardage requirements shown in the pictures at left.
