Five Fat Quarter Friendly Quilt Patterns
Fat Quarter Bundles are so dang cute, but sometimes we need inspiration about how to use them since smaller cuts of fabric require some strategy. Here are five patterns to check out and a couple of resources about how to find more if you need them!

I love fat quarters. Like, a lot. A huge part of my stash is made up of these happy little 18 x 21 inch rectangles because I love having "a little of this and a little of that." The downside, though, is that it can be tricky to know what to do with them, especially if you're wanting to whip up a quilt quickly. These 5 patterns are also wonderful ways to show off bigger prints, so if you have some showy fabric you haven't been able to bear to cut, these could be your answer!
Dogwood Blossoms by HollyAnne Knight
Dogwood Blossoms (also shown at the top) uses 2 fat quarters per block and comes together quickly for a sweet throw quilt. It is a wonderful opportunity to show off some big prints, too!
The Giant Vintage Star is one large block, making it perfect for your inner modern traditionalist (raising my hand right here). I love Jeni's tip, too, to be sure to starch well to prevent those long seams from stretching as you work.
Fat Quarter Fizz by The Fat Quarter Shop
The amazing thing about the Fat Quarter Fizz Quilt is that you only need to make 3 cuts on each fat quarter. Plus, you're left with enough fabric from each one to make a lovely scrappy binding at the end and have basically no scraps! Wow! If you're wanting for more quick and easy patterns, Fat Quarter Shop is a great place to look!
The Wild Windows Quilt is another one designed to show off larger prints. I also think it makes a particularly good quilt for a kiddo-- it has that "I spy" quality while still looking classy and coordinated.
Modern Cogs Quilt by Jen Van Orman
Here's another itch scratcher for your inner modern traditionalist! The Modern Cogs Quilt makes a patchwork cog block nice an big so that it can use up fat quarters and make a proper bed size quilt! It's truly the perfect blend of piecing and pop! This pattern is available via Moda Bake Shop which is another great resource for fat quarter friendly (and all precut friendly) patterns!
